Artemis Fowl: The Atlantis Complex, by Eoin Colfer

***

~~SPOILER ALERT~~

Adequate. Opal is--thankfully--absent from this entry, but she is unfortunately replaced by yet another maniacal evil genius, albeit a more sympathetic one. While I appreciate a more ethically complex villain, I would have liked to have spent less time with him, and more time with the heroes of the piece.

There was still an awful lot going on, and Colfer seems to have ended the book--rather abruptly at that--without resolving the title crisis. I think I prefer simpler plotlines with more character interaction. Still, it's a decent enough read, especially with Parker providing the narration.
