Fragile Things, by Neil Gaiman

***

Not as good as 'M is for Magic.' Gaiman is at his best when writing for younger audiences.

I was particularly saddened by 'The Problem of Susan.' I certainly understand that Gaiman and others have been troubled by C.S. Lewis's treatment of Susan Pevensie in his Narnia books, but Gaiman's response, I think, demonstrates that he misunderstands Lewis's point. At any rate, I thought that particular short story went beyond 'challenging' Lewis and crossed over into disrespecting and even attacking Lewis and his fans both.

But apart from that, the collection was decent enough. Gaiman definitely has a way with words.
